Exciting news for this week's podcast. I wrote a children's book, but that's not the exciting part. The exciting part is how this children's book actually came to be, which was totally by accident, if you can believe it. So I knew my sister was expecting her baby any week. And in the days leading up to her delivery, I asked, What message do I want to share with this little one? So I went to my inner light and I asked Spirit to run energy for me. And I set an intention to receive a message for the highest and best of this child. And very easily the thoughts started to come. Thoughts around them being a soul, a beautiful soul that came here to create a beautiful life. And as I got a few lines in, this suggestion floated in. So I've dabbled in poetry as gifts for my family and friends for years, not ever really taking myself seriously. But because I was already familiar with this kind of expression, the rhyming convention for this book came very naturally. And after all was said and done, I'm like, oh, it's a poem. The letter that I sat down to write ended up being a poem. And then another suggestion floated in, and it asked, what would it be like to illustrate this? And I thought about the resources that I had to do it. The first thing I thought was, I'm so shocked at what poured out of me. This feels incredibly profound and it feels incredibly deserving of like-minded, like-hearted collaborators. I know so many talented artists who would be able to illustrate this in a really meaningful way. And then I thought about it a little bit more, and I what I'm learning is the importance of leaning in to this flow of energy that moves through me. You might have heard this referred to as not letting get not letting perfection get in the way of progress. So it's a continual work in progress for me to actually embody this wisdom. So I thought, okay, what do I have at my fingertips? Like what is available to me now? And I invested in Canva Pro a couple years ago. I cannot tell you how much I love that tool. I have done everything from design gift tags for birthdays and Christmas to posters, to birthday cards, to Christmas cards. And the latest, I illustrated this book with the help of Canva and some really nifty features that are now included in there. So I finished the book and I'm like, okay, how can I get this printed for my niblings, all of my nieces and nephews? Because when it was done, I realized, oh, this is this is would serve an audience much bigger than just my the newest baby, right? And then I realized, oh, this would serve an audience much bigger than just my nieces and nephews. So I went about arranging for hard copies to be printed for them via Canva. And that's how I learned that, oh, okay, in this form, this size hardcover with this distributor, it's not the most affordable way to produce this book. So this is available on Amazon. And I can tell you about why this book feels incredibly meaningful, but I'd rather have you experience it for yourself. So if you'll indulge me, we're gonna do a read-along for the golden paintbrush. Some ask brave questions, and some are great friends, and some help sick people feel better again. Others fly airplanes or sweep up the street or make sure their neighbors have something to eat. Each brush reveals something precious and new. Never has there been an artist like you.
